After the Afthermath

On 12 Sep 2018, Typhoon Mangkhut stroked Hong Kong. Public beaches were damaged, where four rafts from Shek O Public Beach were either washed to the shore or disappeared in the storm.

Seven months after the storm, the government decided not to reinstall the 4 rafts in Shek O Public Beach. No more rafts for swimmers followed by one of the largest demonstrations in history. Despite critics against the ruthless play by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the raft remained sinked in one storm or another.
